The ministry of Langham Partnership UK & Ireland is overseen by a board of trustees, with day-to-day management delegated to the executive director.
David Cansdale (Chair): David Cansdale was a police officer, serving initially in the Metropolitan Police from 1963 and then in Hertfordshire Constabulary where he was Assistant Chief Constable from 1989 to 1997. Since then he has been able to give his time to the Diocese of St Albans and a number of charities including London School of Theology, All Saints Centre for Employment and New Directions (ASCEND) and Hertfordshire Community Foundation. He is a Reader and Church Warden at Christ Church, Chorleywood. He is married and has three adult children and two grandchildren.
John Thomas (Treasurer): John Thomas is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. After obtaining a degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and professional training from KPMG, London, he worked for a small firm for six years before setting up his own practice which is now based in Southall. His interest in Charity Finance has seen him in the following roles; Finance Director, Consultant, Independent Examiner and Auditor. He is currently a trustee of 4 charities. John is married and has two sons.
David Turner: David Turner is a circuit judge dividing his time between the Crown Court at Chelmsford and the Royal Courts of Justice in London, where he sits as a deputy high court judge. He was called to the bar in 1976 and became a QC in 2000. In practice he is a family law specialist. Since his student days at King’s College, London, he has been involved at All Souls Church, Langham Place, serving as church warden there since 1983 and reader since 1981. He is married and has two sons.
John Wallis: Having served in South Korea, John returned to UK serving as UK Director for OMF International. He has chaired the Board of the EMA (now Global Connections). He returned to pastoral work with the Anglican Church in 1989. He continues to write and edit books. John lives in East Anglia, is married and three married children.
John Wyatt: John Wyatt is professor of Neonatal Pediatrics and Consultant Neonatal Pediatrician at University College London. He has a long-standing interest in medical ethics and is chairman of the Study Group of the Christian Medical Fellowship and a board member of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity. He is married and has three children. The family are active members of All Souls Church, Langham Place.
Emmanuel Oladipo: Nigeria-born Emmanuel Oladipo worked with the Fellowship of Christian Students in the Muslim context of Northern Nigeria before being appointed as the Africa Regional Secretary of Scripture Union. He was based in Nairobi, Kenya for ten years until he moved to the UK with his family in 1993 on being appointed to head up the international work of Scripture Union. He retired from that position in 2005. He now works part time promoting fellowship and accoutability as the International Grants Officer for Maxco Trust. Together with his wife Ruth, he has four sons and three grandchildren.
Paul Batchelor: Paul joined the Board of LPUKI in 2005 after assisting the Board in aligning its national role with the emerging role of Langham Partnership International. He also serves on the LPUKI Finance Committee. He is a member of St Nicholas Church, Sevenoaks where he was church-warden from 2001-2007 and a member of the Board of OM Ships, part of Operation Mobilisation. Paul worked as a development economist in Africa, was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1982-2004 and is now board chairman of Crown Agents and OPM, two international development consultancies.
Jason Lim: Dr Jason Lim was a civil engineer, graduating from the University of Malaya in 1988. He did his theological studies at the following institutions: Master of Christian Studies at the Malaysia Bible Seminary (1992); Master of Theology at the Westminster Theological Seminary (1994); Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield (1998). Dr Lim has served as the Associate Dean of the Chinese Department at Malaysia Bible Seminary since 1996, taking charge of the graduate programmes. He is currently the Dean of COCM Bible College (UK).
He published his first book (which is his PhD dissertation) entitled ‘The Trials of the Christians as Resident Aliens and visiting Strangers in 1 Peter’ through Alliance Bible Seminary (Hong Kong). He is currently invited to be the co-author of a biblical commentary on 1 Peter to be published in August 2007 (which is part of the Asia Bible Commentary series).
Pam Bryan: Pam Bryan has been the Associate Minister at Purley Baptist Church since July 2000. After graduating from Bible College in 1986, she went to work for 4 years in DR Congo training pastors. On her return she spent 5 years on the staff at All Nations Christian College and while there she helped to run a church plant in the local town. At Purley, Pam combines her love for pastoral ministry with her love for mission. Her main role is to work within the local community to bring about spiritual transformation.
Executive Director: Ian Buchanan
Ian joins LPUKI after helping Scripture Gift Mission through an extensive repositioning project as the new Lifewords ministry. He is an elder at Guildford Baptist Church (The Millmead Centre) and is married with three teenage children. Ian studied in the commercial world both Engineering Metallurgy and Marketing and also included training for the ministry obtaining a Master of Divinity from Columbia International University, USA and a Master of Theology from Trinity International University (TEDS), USA. His ministry skills include an intense passion for good communication through preaching, teaching and writing. Ian was born in Kenya and studied in South Africa, USA and England.
